On 4.22.10, after 8 years of mispronunciation, misspelling and general aversion to speaking it, our name/brand will change. The brand change will happen at the Grand Opening of our new Satellite Office in Binghamton. We’re also hosting a get-together on 4.23.10 at 12 noon at our Oneonta location to celebrate the event. Food, friends and general awesomeness will be at both events.
The name GrafiQa came from our roots as a graphic design company combined with trying to build in the Q from my last name “Quereau”.
I remember fondly my grandmother telling me that everyone would try to spell it with a “u” and me thinking she didn’t know what she was talking about. Of course, after a year, I had to buy the domain name GrafiQua.com because everyone kept typing it in wrong. So props to Grandma Rosemary.
As a branding company who has worked with countless organizations across the U.S. on branding and marketing problems, it was becoming more and more ironic that our brand had a critical weakness.
After long and extensive research, our new name is finally ready and we’re all super pumped about it.
